"I hate Japan" Days

I was hating Japan yesterday. Because my new bike was stolen. In broad daylight. What the hell, Japan?

  1. There's a chance that it might have just been towed off if you (1) were parked in an area not designated for bicycle parking or (2) you didn't have proper registration stickers on it. But, I assume that you got the registration stickers automatically when you bought the bike and that you probably parked it in an area where there were plenty of other parked bikes.

But man, I know how you feel - Insecure and outraged without an outlet to release the feelings. You could always temporarily change your blog handle to The Helpless Romantic.

  2. Wow... and Japan is supposed to be one of the few places you don't have to worry about that kind of stuff. I guess times are changing... Oh well, try not to let it bother you too much; no country is perfect.

  5. Chances of the bike being towed are out; they probably would have known when I was filing the police report anyways.

@portal: Listen, I'm a scanner, and I have an awesome power with great responsibility. If I go thinking hurtful thoughts, the guy's head will explode. It's not an easy power...

  6. Wait a bit. The guy would throw that away somewhere. That's how we do when we urgently need a bike. Well, when I did, more than twenty years ago, I said I borrowed. Anyway,
I bet it'll come back to you in a week.

  7. Oh, that suxxxx.
    I feel your pain.
I felt the same way when I was mugged. I was surrounded by skinheads and they punched & kicked me. As the result of that, I could not talk or eat about a couple of month(this was not the stroy on Japan).
Hang in there, something like that does not happen very often to people like you.
