  1. about 70 minutes from Ueno by local train and 30 by shinkansen. Not bad. Do get in touch if you find yourself roaming around Tokyo. I'm 40 mins. from Ueno. Good luck with everything!

  2. Kumagaya!!!!???? There's nothing there, why are you going there? That's so random, I knew a kid that lived there. I visited him once, and that was it. It was faaaaar away from Tokyo.

Come to Tokyo, there's more stuff.

  3. well I have the convenience of a friend in the town to help me get into the school and find an apartment and stuff. It will be nice to know someone where I am going to. It will also be nice to finally hear the 標準語 I keep hearing about.

  4. I've been to Kumagaya before... used to live around that area, actually. It's pretty good, not like Omiya or the bigger Saitama cities, but a pretty decent place to live.
    Good luck!

  5. Yeah, so you are moving to Kumagaya. One hour from Shinjuku is an enormous improvement, not bad at all. A guy like you should live, at least, near Tokyo. And you really should learn 標準語, not 佐賀弁. I know for people who live in Tokyo, Kumagaya is still country side. Actually, Saitama is like New Jersey of Tokyo. However, cosindering about the place you live now, which is like a tiny nameless town of Alabama, this is still a huge change. I hope you will enjoy your new life in Kumagaya, and then you can move to Tokyo someday if you like.
