You know what I always found interesting amongst my Japanese major peers? All of the students who were majoring in the language so they could watch anime insisted that nearly ALL Japanese watch anime. Men, women, children, adults, the young, the elderly - The entire nation. They persisted with it, despite our Japanese teacher telling them it wasn't true. Where does this image come from?
i visited my school's anime club once, or twice. the first time was allright, just introduction and plans for what they would do in the club. the second time, i brought along my friend. i had to really apologize to him after we left, i didnt realize we were going into a nerd hideout. it was incredibly... otaku. i dont mean to be derogatory, i've got nothing against them, their areas of knowledge are kinda cool, but... its just not me @_@
I can say that the anime club here at the university has gotten more creepy with each passing year. I always thought about joining because I do like anime, but it's scary. I'm all about embracing my nerdy side, but I think some of those guys take it too far.
